What PDF form fields are supported?
The current browser tool supports common AcroForm field types including text fields, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns, and option lists. Existing read-only fields are displayed but are not changed.
Buttons, certificate-signature fields, XFA forms, and some uncommon or malformed form structures may not be editable with this version. A normal PDF that has no embedded form fields will not automatically become fillable.
When flattening is enabled, the completed field appearances are converted into regular PDF page content. This is useful when you want the filled values to remain visible without leaving the fields editable.
Frequently asked questions
Can this turn any PDF into a fillable form?
No. This version fills form fields that already exist inside the PDF. Creating new visual form fields is a separate feature.
What does flattening a PDF form do?
Flattening converts completed field appearances into ordinary PDF page content. After flattening, those form fields are no longer editable.
Are digital signature fields supported?
Certificate-based PDF signature fields are not filled by this form tool. Use the Sign PDF tool for a visual handwritten electronic signature.
