What does PDF repair mean?
A PDF contains many interconnected objects plus structural information that tells a viewer where those objects are stored. Some PDFs remain readable even when parts of that structure are unusual, malformed, or were written incorrectly by another application.
This tool attempts a conservative type of repair: it opens a PDF that can still be parsed and writes the supported content into a fresh PDF structure. This can help in certain cases where rebuilding the file is enough to improve compatibility with another viewer or workflow.
It is not a forensic recovery service. If the PDF has missing bytes, destroyed page content, unsupported encryption, or corruption severe enough that the document cannot be parsed, the browser cannot reconstruct data that is no longer available.

Can this repair every damaged PDF?
No. The file must still be readable by the PDF parser. Severely corrupted files may need specialized recovery software or another source copy.
Does repair change the page content?
The goal is to preserve supported document content while writing a fresh PDF structure. However, unusual or unsupported PDF features may not survive every rebuild exactly as they appeared in the original application.
Can it repair a password-protected PDF?
This repair tool does not bypass PDF passwords or encryption. Use the Unlock PDF tool when you already know the valid password and need to remove supported encryption first.
