What does flattening a PDF do?
PDF documents can contain selectable text, links, form fields, annotations, layers, vector graphics, and other interactive objects. This browser tool renders each page visually and creates a new PDF using those rendered page images.
The result looks like the original document but its internal structure is simplified. This can be useful when you want to preserve the visible appearance of completed forms, annotations, or other page content without keeping those elements interactive.
Because the pages are rasterized, selectable text, hyperlinks, form fields, annotations, and vector information are not preserved. The final file may also be larger than the original depending on page count and image quality.
