Translate PDF Online
Extract selectable PDF text and translate it into another language using AI.
Translation and layout notice
This version translates extracted PDF text. It does not recreate the original PDF layout, fonts, images, tables, or page formatting in the translated output.
AI processing notice
The PDF file itself is parsed in your browser. The extracted text is sent to the configured AI provider for translation. Avoid submitting confidential information unless your privacy policy and provider configuration allow it.
How to translate a PDF
Select your PDF
Choose a PDF containing selectable text. For scanned pages, use OCR PDF first.
Choose a language
Select the language you want the extracted PDF text translated into.
Translate and download
Review the translated text, copy it, or download it as a UTF-8 text file.
AI-powered PDF translation
This tool extracts selectable text from a PDF in your browser and sends the extracted text to the configured AI service for translation.
It can be useful for reports, notes, articles, instructions, and other text-heavy PDFs when you need a readable translation without manually copying each page.
This version translates text content only. It does not rebuild the original PDF layout, reproduce embedded fonts, reposition translated text, or preserve complex tables and graphics in a translated PDF file.
Frequently asked questions
Does this preserve the original PDF layout?
No. This version translates the extracted text and returns translated text output. Rebuilding a translated PDF while preserving the original layout is a separate, more complex workflow.
Can it translate scanned PDFs?
Image-only PDFs do not contain enough selectable text for direct translation. Use the OCR PDF tool first.
Is the original PDF sent to the AI provider?
In this implementation, PDF parsing happens in the browser. The extracted text is sent to the server endpoint and configured AI provider.
Can AI translation make mistakes?
Yes. Important legal, medical, financial, academic, or business translations should be checked by a qualified reviewer.
