What is PDF metadata?
PDF metadata is information stored inside a PDF that describes the document. Common metadata fields include the document title, author, subject, keywords, creator application, and PDF producer.
These properties may be displayed by PDF readers, document-management systems, search tools, or file-inspection utilities. Metadata is separate from the visible page content.
This editor works locally in the browser using standard PDF metadata fields. It does not rewrite visible text, remove hidden page content, or guarantee removal of every possible custom metadata structure that may exist in a PDF.

Can I change the PDF author?

Can I remove metadata?
You can clear the standard metadata fields supported by this tool. This should not be treated as a forensic metadata-removal or sanitization tool because PDFs can contain other structures beyond these standard fields.
Does editing metadata change visible PDF content?
No. The visible pages remain unchanged. Only document-property fields are updated.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No server upload is required for this tool. Reading and writing the PDF happens locally in the browser.
